Foster & Adoption

There are times that we have animals that need to be placed in foster homes. Thankfully there are families willing to foster and nurture these animals until they are adopted into permanent homes.

If you are currently a member of GERL and are interested in becoming a GERL foster home, please contact our Foster Care Coordinator Becky Gregory at gerlbeck@aol.com 770-207-4762.

Foster and Adoptive Homes Desperately Needed
By: Anne Ensminger

Never has the need been greater in these two areas.  Horses are being abandoned and given up because of job losses or other financial hardships that are the result of the present economy in our country.  GERL is now frequently called upon to help these horses, therefore, we are in need of help from our membership as never before.

Can you offer a horse a temporary home until a permanent home can be found?  Are you interested in adopting a GERL horse?

If you have answered yes to either of these questions please contact Becky Gregory at gerlbeck@aol.com 770-207-4762 about our Foster Care Program Let Becky know what you are able to foster and if you are looking to adopt, what sort of horse would work for you (mare, gelding, young horse, old horse, pet, or riding horse).  If you have made either offer in the past and have not been contacted, rest assured that you WILL get a response from Becky or Heather.  The need is great.  Please help us meet this need and help these horses!
